Chloe the Bulldog Turns Her Vet Clinic Bandage Change into a Belly-Rub Session

While clinic staff changed her chest bandage, the brave pup was only focused on soaking up affection.

Stretched out flat on her back across the padded examination cradle, Chloe stared straight up at the clinic ceiling while three veterinary workers circled around her.

Her hind paws hung relaxed in the air, but there was no trembling or panicked scramble toward the clinic door. Instead, as Dr. Peter Bowen and two technicians began carefully working on her chest, Chloe let out a gentle sigh and waited for the real reason she had made the trip: an uninterrupted round of belly rubs.

A regular clinic visit turns into a tail-wagging spa day

For about a month, Chloe has been a frequent visitor at Firehouse Animal Health Center in Austin, Texas. The pup has been undergoing regular bandage changes under the supervision of Dr. Bowen while recovering from a persistent wound on her chest, as reported by DogTime. Medical dressing changes on sensitive skin can be tedious or tender for any canine, yet Chloe turned the clinical routine completely upside down.

Rather than tensing up, she rolled onto her back and happily surrendered to the moment. With hands gently touching her torso to replace the dressing, Chloe interpreted the entire procedure as an exclusive spa appointment. As the staff tended to her chest, her tail thumped steadily in a cheerful blur against the table padding.

Affection becomes the ultimate healing routine

The clinic shared the sweet video on Instagram, showing Dr. Bowen working in sterile gloves while his colleagues kept Chloe feeling loved and thoroughly spoiled. The clip quickly charmed pet owners who know just how rare it is to see a dog celebrate an exam room table:

Dog lovers chimed in to applaud Chloe’s upside-down optimism and her team’s gentle bedside manner:

"Someone start kissing that face right now!"

"Who else turned their phone upside down to see this baby face-up? 😂😍❤️"

"With our dog the vets say the muzzle is never necessary because he is such a good boy. And he is, he will let you do anything to him without flinching. Just wants attention."

"He's like "I'm getting so much attention!!!! So happy!!!!"

"This sweet angel is Chloe!" the team at @firehouseanimal shared. "Dr. Bowen and the team has been doing bandage changes all month for a wound that is on her chest. She has been such a brave girl and we love seeing her healing progress."

Her easygoing response is a testament to both thoughtful low-stress handling and the notoriously affectionate nature of the Bulldog. While veterinary visits can provoke anxiety in unfamiliar settings, pairing necessary medical handling with calm touch, familiar voices, and favorite scratches transforms recurring procedures into positive events. Chloe's joyful cooperation shows that with a dedicated care team and a generous dose of humor, even healing from an injury can feel like a heartwarming cuddle session.
