Most dogs vanish after a successful raid.
Waffles is already on the living-room rug when the camera catches him — a copper Vizsla from @waffles_the_vizsla with a full bag of PureBites clamped in his jaws. The crate sits behind him. Ears forward. Eyes locked on the lens. No attempt to play it cool.
He hops onto the couch next and keeps walking the cushions with the bag held high, like the snack is a trophy he wants his person to notice. The stolen treat is obvious. What isn't, at first, is why he bothers putting on the show.
"My dog making sure I saw he stole something because if I'm not annoyed it's no fun for him." His mom put the same habit another way. "He’s always watching for opportunities to overstimulate mom," she wrote.
Other dog people clocked it immediately. "why is this EVERY VIZSLA," one person wrote. Another shared that their own dog "comes into my room to show she's stolen something from the kitchen, then zooms to another room for the thrill of it." And someone else admitted the hard truth: "it’s so stinkin cute when they do it too."
For Waffles, the bag was never the prize. The reaction was.
