The crate never really stood a chance.
An open crate sits right beside the bed, fully outfitted with a plush cushion, a warm blanket, and a chew toy.
Everything was in place for a textbook night of puppy crate training. The setup was cozy, the door was open, and the crate was positioned just inches from the mattress. But when the camera pans up, it becomes immediately obvious that Frankie, a tiny Biewer Terrier, had other plans entirely.
Instead of settling into his dedicated sleeping quarters, Frankie is stretched out on his back directly in the middle of the human bed. Tucked snugly between the soft duvet and a fortress of pillows, the tiny pup tilts his head back toward the camera with total serenity. The on-screen caption from his family’s account, @frankie_biewerterrier26, summed up the milestone with pure sarcasm: “Crate training going well 🙄.”
Judging by Frankie's relaxed posture, he was not experiencing even a single second of puppy remorse.
As DogTime reported, the clip racked up thousands of likes as viewers rallied behind Frankie’s executive decision. While proper crate training is designed to give dogs a safe, secure den, nobody could argue with the sheer comfort of high-thread-count sheets and an arm’s-reach cuddle.
Fellow dog lovers on Instagram quickly pointed out that the contest was rigged from the start:
With more than 20,000 likes and zero regrets, Frankie seems to have resolved the bedtime debate for good. If the crate is feeling neglected, at least it has the chew toy for company.
