Airedale Terrier Misses His Mom and Delivers an Earful on Speakerphone

The desk phone chimed on speaker, and Stanley’s fuzzy head snapped straight toward the cradle before the first ring even cleared.

Dad had dialed Jennifer while she was away at work, hoping a quick audio check-in might reassure their homesick Airedale Terrier. But the moment Jennifer picked up and asked how her boy was doing, polite small talk went out the window.

Dialing in for the daily emotional debrief

As reported by iHeartDogs, Stanley treats every routine absence like a prolonged crisis that requires immediate management intervention. Sitting right beside the wooden desk, he planted his paws, tilted his whiskered muzzle toward the plastic handset, and zeroed in on her voice.

When Jennifer called out from the speaker, Stanley didn't merely wag or perk an ear. He took a breath, parted his lips, and unleashed a rising, undulating howl that sounded half like an opera solo and half like an urgent dispatch about the household snack supply.

A full minute of operatic grievances

"Stanley, I love you!" Jennifer laughed through the line, trying to soothe him between verses. But Stanley wasn't finished. Every time she spoke, he waited for a split-second pause before launching into another sustained, expressive wail, passionately recounting every single minute she had dared to be off the property.

The entire exchange turned into a hilarious duet that lasted over a minute, proving that terriers don't just hold strong opinions—they demand direct conference calls to air them. Fans of dramatic canine humor know that high-energy working breeds feel human absences deeply, but Stanley's insistence on singing his heart out directly into speakerphone mode gave Mom the best mid-shift pick-me-up imaginable.
