Two minutes of dental hygiene is apparently forty years in dog time.
Honey planted herself right outside the open bathroom door, locked eyes with her owner, and began a quiet staring contest. Inside, the electric toothbrush was still running, and the fluffy pup clearly felt two full minutes was an unreasonable delay.
With her tail swaying like a cheerful metronome, the Chow Chow-Corgi mix tracked every stroke with absolute focus. When her mom paused to ask "What?", Honey did not bark or wander off. She just cocked her head, delivered an encouraging full-body wiggle, and stayed glued to the threshold.
As the dental routine dragged on, Honey decided to test the waters. She placed a single cautious paw onto the cool bathroom tile, thought better of it, and stepped right back out into the hallway.
When her owner laughed and asked if she was scared to come in, Honey responded with pure attitude. Her nose went up, her ears perked, and she sat squarely on the floor before lifting one front paw directly toward her mom in a universal gesture that clearly meant: wrap it up.
Realizing negotiations were officially open, Mom extended a hand. Honey immediately tapped it with her paw, stepped both front feet onto the tiles, and leaned in for the victory prize: long, slow scratches right under her fluffy chin.
"You’re the sweetest girl," Mom whispered as Honey beamed, proving that canine body language can hold an entire conversation without making a peep.
The clip, posted to Instagram by @honey_the_fox, quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of likes. As reported by DogTime, viewers fell in love with Honey's expressive routine, with one fan dubbing the pup their "daily dose of oxytocin."
Anyone who shares a home with an opinionated pup knows this exact scenario. Dogs are masters of evening routines, and when bedtime rituals clash with human hygiene, a laser-focused stare is usually all it takes to keep things on schedule.
