Black Labrador Gives Offended Look When Asked to Share the Bed

Bear lay sprawled across the center of the bed. When his owner asked him to move so she could get in, he stared straight at the camera with wide eyes.

The 3-year-old Labrador Retriever made it immediately clear that bedtime was not open for renegotiation. As his owner repeated her request, Bear stayed firmly planted on the duvet, treating the simple ask like an unthinkable eviction notice.

Moving two feet over counts as compromise

He did eventually budge, but only on his own terms. Standing up with maximum reluctance, Bear strolled slowly across the mattress before curling back down right by the pillows, successfully reclaiming the best real estate in the room. His owner shared the standoff on their Instagram page, @bearbear_theblacklab, with a caption that sums up life with a stubborn pup: “God forbid I ask him if I can sleep in my bed!!”

Bedtime negotiators side with the dog

The clip quickly struck a chord with anyone who has ever tried bargaining with a sleeping pet, as reported by DogTime. Viewers flooded the post with humor, immediately taking the pup's side in the territorial dispute:

In Bear's mind, sharing the bed was already a generous concession—and having to scoot over was simply asking too much.
