Emotional support teddy bears are strictly mandatory.
Tedward stood inside his wire playpen as his owner walked into the room.
His tail kicked into high gear the second he spotted his human, but walking out into the living room empty-handed was clearly out of the question. Before taking a single step toward the open doorway, the sensitive golden retriever puppy made a quick detour across his blankets to scoop up his favorite stuffed teddy bear.
Even after his owner swung the playpen gate wide open, Tedward refused to rush the process. Instead, he politely sat down right inside the pen, clamping the plush bear between his teeth for several quiet seconds to make sure his prized possession received the admiration it deserved.
Anyone who has lived with a retriever knows the classic urge to show off a prize, whether it is an old sock, a stolen slipper, or in Tedward's case, a pristine stuffed animal. Only after the hallway presentation was fully accepted did he finally step through the gate to deliver his morning wiggles.
As reported by DogTime, the video was posted on Instagram by @teddys.golden.hour, where his family couldn't resist praising the sweet routine with a simple caption: “He's such a good boy!”
The London-based pup has made the heartwarming presentation part of his everyday greeting routine. For anyone tracking the delightful humor and chaos of raising a young Golden Retriever, Tedward makes one rule abundantly clear: no morning reunion is complete without an emotional support bear.
