Her mom had the footage. A squirrel made sure of that.
Off the leash, Nevada the Dalmatian sticks to her mom's side all the way across a crosswalk, glancing up every few steps. Her mom wasn't buying it. "Oh so you DO know how to walk beside me," she wrote with the clip, then typed out what every leash-walker's shoulder already knows right across the video: "God forbid she walk like this on a leash."
Over on TikTok, that was all one follower, @Nevauxx, needed to call her bluff: "i need to see the comparison pls."
Her mom delivered. On her lavender leash, Nevada rears up on her back legs at a garden fence with her nose pointed into the plants. Back on the sidewalk she pulls out ahead, then swings off sideways to the end of the leash. By the time they reach a dirt trail, she's popping up on her hind legs again. "Here's what happens when she sees a squirrel," her mom wrote.

The squirrels and Nevada go way back. About a year ago her mom wrote, "She's recently discovered squirrels and I ain't happy about it."
A year on, the squirrels are still winning on leash days. But that crosswalk clip shows Nevada knows exactly where she's supposed to be. She just saves it for the walks where nobody's holding the other end.
