Clever Puppy Teaches Herself to Open the Door — Then Kicks It Wide With Total Sass

Seven cracked the patio handle on her own, but her dramatic final shove stole the show.

Standing on her hind legs outside the glass patio door, Seven pressed a single front paw firmly onto the handle lever until it clicked down.

The white-framed door swung inward just an inch — just wide enough for a white-coated furry sibling to trot smoothly into the house first. But Seven wasn’t interested in a polite entrance. Bundled in a pink knit sweater, the young Doberman–Boxer mix paused for half a beat, gathered momentum, and forcefully kicked the door wide with an aggressive bang that rattled the frame and sent her owners into hysterical laughter behind the camera.

The hilarious breakout moment was captured by her family and shared on Instagram with the caption: “The attitude as she shoves it open sends me.” As the on-screen text noted, nobody ever taught the pup this mechanical trick — Seven simply figured out the physics of the lever handle entirely by herself.

Watching the entire sequence unfold in the snowy yard was a Siberian Husky housemate, who stood completely motionless in the background, appearing utterly flabbergasted by the puppy’s sudden engineering prowess.

Dog lovers quickly turned the clip into a viral sensation, with viewers delighting in Seven’s theatrical grand entrance:

"The attitude 🤌🔥😂"
"The angry bang at the end."
"She’s so dang funny i can’t."

While seeing a dog open a closed door is always an impressive feat of canine problem-solving, pet parents living with working breeds recognize the spark right away. Both Boxers and Doberman Pinschers are renowned for high drive, persistence, and keen observational intelligence. When energetic pups see humans push down a horizontal lever day after day, they often test the latch through trial and error — and once that satisfying click rewards them with access indoors, the behavior becomes instantly self-reinforcing.

For owners who want to keep curious escape artists secure, swapping lever latches for round knobs or adding high deadbolts is often the only remedy once a smart mixed-breed pup unlocks the secret. Until then, Seven seems more than happy to serve as the household doorman — provided she is allowed to enter with maximum humor and dramatic flair.
